A leading education company is currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer based in Manchester, paying up to £528 per day via Umbrella. The ideal candidate will live locally to Manchester and have strong experience in networking technologies.
Role Overview
Building and administering the complex IT systems held within the group data centres. These systems will include the Storage Area Network, server estate, VDI infrastructure, backup services and local and wide area networking and are critical to all Group IT systems.
Will hold various baseline accreditations in-line with the technologies employed by the group and be responsible for the uninterrupted operation of data centre systems and therefore Group-wide IT Operation.
Specialise in a particular area of the afore-mentioned technologies to ensure a member of the IT team has a highly developed skill in each critical area.
Experience Required
- At least one enterprise level storage certifications (HP MASE, NetApp NCIE etc.)
- At least one enterprise level server certification (HP ASE, Cisco UCDS etc.)
- VMware Certified Professional - Desktop & Mobility or Data Centre Virtualisation
- Cisco CCNA or HP AIS Networking or Brocade BCNP or Juniper JNCIS-ENT
- Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, MCITP
- HP AIS/ASE Blade System
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft System Centre CM, VMM, OM, DPM
- Microsoft SQL
- At least 5 years experience in a similar level technical role. This would be underpinned by at least 10 years in the IT industry
- Have in-depth technical knowledge in specialist field with a broad understanding of all infrastructure technologies both at a delivery and administrative level
- Accomplished and confident in front of audiences up to and including Director level in white-boarding, presenting and exploring customers' needs and wants - both internally and external
