Data Steward
A Leading Financial Services firm are looking to hire an experienced Data Steward to work in their Belfast Office on an initial 6 month contract
£450-£540 per day - Inside IR35 (Umbrella only)
The role is WFH/Remote initially but that may change as and when government guidelines allow.
Role Profile:
The data steward will sit within the Core Technology function and should align with the asset classes data custodians (application owners).
They will:
- Work with Ops and FO keep the UA process models current/creating new ones
- Document data lineage, and deliver solutions through technology to fix data quality issues (eg IMRs)
- Experience in banking environment, working with data models/data sets desired
Role Responsibilities:
- Business/Global Function-Aligned Data Stewards (referred to as Data Stewards) are data-skilled individuals identified by the Data Accountable Executive (in collaboration with Process Owners) as the person who understands the data (eg, system lineage, consumption requirements and CDEs, etc.) within a Business or Global Function. Data Stewards could be assigned at the product, region, process group, or process level.
- Data Stewards are responsible for mapping processes including identifying and mapping Data Domains, Data Concepts and Data Elements.
- Data Stewards are responsible for identifying Trusted Sources for each CDE.
- The Data Steward is also responsible for implementing appropriate Data Quality rules and controls for Corporate CDEs and CDEs (as described in section C.2 Data Elements).
- The Data Steward is responsible for documenting the system lineage, and for mapping data to the logical data model (if one exists), as well as for developing the Business Glossary.
- Data Stewards have additional responsibilities to maintain accurate Business Process maps, Data Domains, Data Concepts and Data Elements; maintaining appropriate Data Quality rules and controls for Corporate CDEs and CDEs, identifying and remediating Data Quality issues within their Business Process; coordinating with other stakeholders on issue resolution (as applicable), prioritizing issues, providing support for both tactical and strategic remediation and monitoring resolution.
- The Data Steward is responsible for maintaining the quality and timeliness of data feeding Trusted Sources, and for maintaining system lineage and the Business Glossary.
