Linux Administrator
International Banking Group - Contract
Initial 6 months, £450-£500pd
Home Based (Usually London)
As a preferred and trusted recruitment partner to this international banking group for over eight years, we have asked to assist in the hire of a contract Linux Administrator.
The Linux Administrator will work as part of a team responsible for providing 24/7 Linux support across both EMEA and internationally.
Key Requirements (Excellent Knowledge of)
- Multiple Linux OS Platforms - Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SuSE, Solaris
- Linux systems internals and Kernel tuning
- Configuring Linux systems for optimal performance
- Performance monitoring, tuning utilities and commands
- Security hardening principles (CIS industry benchmarks)
- Networking, storage, database and virtualisation layers
- Clustering and high availability
- Replication and disaster recovery
- Security and auditing
- Data security governance (GDPR, SOX)
Desirable Requirements
Python, Perl and Batch Scripting; Ansible and SaltStack; Red Hat Satellite; VcVM and VxFS; NFS and CIFS; TCP/IP Networking Protocols; Infoblox DNS; ESX VMware; Nutanix HCI; EMC and HDS storage arrays; EMC Networker, Data Domain and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager; Icinga 2 and OpManager; IBM Tivoli and Netcool; Active Directory, LDAP and Kerberos; GitHub, Subversion and TeamCity; BMC Control-M; CyberArk; Splunk and QRadar; Qualys; SharePoint, JIRA and Confluence; ServiceNow and Serena Business Manager; Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle).
Inside IR35 (PAYE Umbrella): This contract is Inside IR35 and you will need to contract via an Umbrella company on PAYE. On top of your base pay rate (which will include holiday pay) you will receive an uplift for Employer's NI (13.8%), Pension (3%) and Apprenticeship Levy (0.5%).
