Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Developer/Process Analyst to join a well established company on a 3 month contract in Slough.

* Local Government Experience needed*

Key Role Tasks:

- Collaborate with digital service officers, communications officers, service managers, product owners and policy colleagues to support the vision and build of digital solutions and services.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and cost reduction, such as building more efficient interactions, using automation and integrations, reducing staff costs
- To build and test prototypes for websites and digital services using the Jadu Continuum platform. This will require building in a test environment and supporting the business with UAT before getting sign-off to transfer to the live environment.
- Build and test simple interfaces between systems, or work on more complex integrations as part of a wider team.
- To review platform updates, assess how they impact upon developed and future services and communicate any required changes so the work can be planned and prioritised.
- Highlight opportunities to establish benchmarks and to identify measures to track the impact of changes.
- Actively test prototypes within the team and ensure that all interactions and user journeys across our websites and services are consistent.
-To align priorities with delivery of digital transformation within the wider organisation.
To enable staff, within areas of responsibility, to use the digital platforms more effectively themselves, where required.
- To identify and outline ideas for commercial opportunities.
- To help all digital services meet the latest standards required by law, such as accessibility information security, cyber security, GDPR, open data etc
- Collaborate with others when necessary to review specifications and use them to design, code, test and document programs or scripts, using the right standards and tools.
- Manage changes and releases in relation to the Jadu platform and other systems so that updates and changes do not impact platform performance or availability.
- Regularly review the Jadu library for useful entries and contribute forms, workflows and transactions to it.
- Identify opportunities to work with others to reduce future development costs.
- Identify opportunities to develop the Jadu platform further, such as chatbots, AI and other integrations.

Skills, knowledge and experience
- Can design, code, test and correct websites, as well as simple programs or scripts
- Has a good understanding of coding and design
*knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
*experience of Front End platform development (JSON, PHP, Twig)
*knowledge of RESTful APIs/web services
- Understands experience analysis and how to develop software to meet user needs. Advocates putting users first and can manage competing priorities
- Understands security controls, accessibility, version control, change control and release management in an agile project-based environment.
- Understands information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.
- Experience of different types of testing and can create high-quality design documentation
- Can help to fix faults following agreed procedures, such as changes and release management, and can carry out agreed maintenance tasks.
- Able to communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context. Makes complex and technical information and language simple and accessible for everyone
- Able to have an overall perspective on business issues, events, activities and an understanding of their wider implications and long-term impact.
- Able to understand and work within the given constraints, such as technology, policy, financial etc and to challenge constraints that can be changed.
- Experience of collaborating with senior stakeholders and capable of resolving disputes, taking into account all views and opinions.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentations skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Good knowledge of customer service
- Understands digital communications activities, such as websites, social media, newsletters etc
- Good knowledge of local authorities
