Description

Data Architect required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6 month contract, outside IR35, paying up to £650 per day. This is a remote contract until further notice (with offices based in central London)

Ideally you will hold valid and current SC clearance.

Summary
A Data Architect is a key role in the project delivery team, you will be required to consider all of the data elements that must move around a new application to enable all areas of functional and non-functional requirements.

Role and Responsibilities:
*You will be working as part of the distributed central client team containing a mixture or architecture, data and delivery resources.
*You will likely participate in some engagements with government and law enforcement as well as the private sector in relation to your work.
*Work is focused on the creation of a service through the combination of Azure Native Services including, but not exclusively, Azure Power Apps, Canvas Apps, and Azure Logic Apps.
*Deliver programme wide data architecture policies, standards and design patterns
*Develop the target data architecture for the programme delivering a data model for a technical solution that covers structured and unstructured data.
*Assure that products/systems/services delivered and operated are compliant with these policies, standards and patterns.
*Take responsibility for producing the data architecture for specific products/systems/services and working with a variety of suppliers and business leads to ensure that these meet the business requirements.
*You will report to the Product Owner and project manager and be expected to attend virtual meetings as standard. Some visits to other users and organisations may be required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
*Experience designing and implementing relational and non-relational data models
*Proven experience of data integration techniques
*Experience with Datamodelling and BI tools
*Demonstrable experience in working with teams and/or suppliers in agile delivery across all phases of service development through to business as usual
*Demonstrable experience in RDBMS and document database design
*Knowledge of APIs, JSON and Microsoft SQLServer
*Extensive knowledge of data architecture and best practices
*Demonstrable experience of influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including senior officials, customers and suppliers.
*Ability to mentor and coach less experienced technical colleagues.
*Anti-money Laundering/KYC expertise.
*Knowledge and understanding of government information security standards including privacy legislation eg MOPI.
*Any other Financial services data architecture experience.
*Microsoft CosmosDB experience.
*Experience working in a "just enough architecture" environment.
*Experience in the management of ICT staff including technical specialists, external contracts and consultants.
*Demonstrable experience of working within organisations during their transition from Waterfall to Agile.
*Managing and releasing production applications into Microsoft Azure.
*The ability to manage internal or external suppliers to ensure successful delivery of products and services required by the business.
*Expertise in Agile delivery and Waterfall and organisations transitioning to Agile.
*Experience of working in blended, multi-discipline, multi-vendor team Environments.
*Experience of complex governance in a large organisation.
*Ability to engage and influence at senior levels.
*Knowledge and understanding of government information security standards.
*Demonstrable experience in working with teams and/or suppliers using Agile and waterfall in all phases of service development.
*An understanding of the Law enforcement landscape.
*Have experience of working with Microsoft Azure technologies and tools.
*Have experience working on migration between on-premise and Cloud.
*Awareness of organisational and cultural change.
*Experience of working with public sector organisations.
