Job Description

Working for a large consultancy client of ours, you will join a public sector project as a Project Management Officer (PMO) to help design and ensure the standards of the project are met.

This is an urgent requirement so you will be immediately available and given that it is within the public sector you will ideally have active SC Clearance, but as a minimum be elgible.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Help define, set and maintain the project standards
  • Create and maintain clear project charters and business outcomes
  • Gather, analyse all required information on the status of the programme(s) and present efficiently and accurately to the respective Programme Teams in order to provide a meaningful summary of the Programme Status
  • Maintain the Programme Risk Register and Programme Issue Log
  • Proactively monitor the programme by working alongside the core Programme Team, highlighting any Risks and Issues to the relevant POCs
  • Interfacing with the Customer's Programme Office for Joint Governance including Risk/Issue/Change Management and Customer-facing Status Reports
  • Attend key Programme Status Reviews and take a record of the meeting, highlighting all risks/issues identified, decisions made and actions taken
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Programme and the wider Programme Office Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Experienced PMO/Governance Analyst with strong and well-proven credentials
  • Experience in MoR, Prince2, MSP, PMP, ITL and/or P3O is advantageous
  • Experience in delivering projects at an enterprise scale in a Matrix environment
  • Proven ability managing quality, delivery and strict project budgets
  • Specific experience of effective Risk and Issue Management in large programmes
  • Commercial experience using project management tools such as SNOW or MS Project
