Azure Data Engineer/Architect
Surrey/Remote During Covid-19

£500 - £550 per day outside IR35

An Azure Data Engineer/Architect with commercial experience of Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services and Azure Data Factory is needed to join my prestigious client on an initial 6-month contract paying between £500 - £550 per day depending on experience.
As the Azure Data Engineer/Architect you will support a key strategic transformation project to migrate key business data and reporting capabilities to the Azure cloud. The role will involve the end-to-end data journey from ingesting source system data, data transformations and modelling
You will work closely with a varied business user base including data scientist, business analysts and
report specialists and your day-to-day responsibilities could include Architecture, data analysis and design, effort estimations within the scrum team, full build of end-to-end data pipelines including data factory, data bricks, Synapse Data warehouse and Analysis Service.
Key skills required for the Azure Data Engineer/Architect include:
- Azure PaaS including ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Azure Analysis Services
- Data Modeling experience
- Dimensional modelling
- Strong communication skills and business acumen
- Agile and Scrum experience
Beneficial skills and experience for the Azure Data Engineer and Architect include:
- PowerBI
- ARM templates
- Powershell (at least basic skills)
- Azure Security (AAD, Service Principals, VNets, RBAC)
- Azure Git + DevOps pipelines
- DAX
- Advanced Python
