Description

Outsource UK are currently working with a leading Bank based in London who are seeking a Java Developer for a 6 month contract initially.

This role will be working from home and is inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System and component ownership
  • Working in Sales and trading labs - Front Office focused
  • Currently have 2 Junior Engineers in the team - this is a senior position helping lead the members and focusing on a system called Guardian
  • Responsible for further production investigation, when handed over from Run teams
  • Providing system guidance, where needed to Business analysts, Product owners, Run team and other consumers of the service
  • Own a personal development plan, developing themselves and the team around them
  • Prepare changes to the required standard and complete all necessary audit artefacts
  • Adhere to LBG audit and control processes, SLA's and behaviours
  • Identification of opportunities to automate and simplify

Skills:

  • Extensive Java Development experience
  • Must have experience in a markets environment
  • Must have Markets Regulatory/Trade control knowledge
  • Experience working with Data lake (Hadoop) consumption, specifically Hive experience
  • Kafka experience
  • SQL, Spring Experience
  • Rules engine experience (Ideally open source/vendor products, eg Drools or Camunda)
  • Unix Scripting knowledge
  • Agile - scrum experience
  • Ability to Multi-task in a high pressure environment
  • Strong team working skills

Desirable:

  • ServiceNow knowledge
  • Automation experience
  • Cloud experience
  • Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
