Security Engineer - Security Consultant - InfoSec Consultant - IAM - SIEM - Cardiff - Remote initially

My client looking to onboard an experienced contract Security Engineer to join an experienced InfoSec Team implementing a new company wide security model. The successful Security Engineer will report to the Group Head of Security and assist with strategic security engineering functions; acting as the "Project & Programme Security Engineer" within the organisations Security Management team.

The Security Consultant will collaborate with a wide range of technical teams, stakeholders and business units to ensure that Security meets not only today's requirements, but also use your skills, experience and hands on techniques to test and validate ongoing services, solutions & suppliers.

This Contract is looking to start week commencing March 29th/Q2

* 100% Remote work until Covid restrictions allow onsite working

* Inside IR35 - via an accredited umbrella company

* Good day rate - Dependant on skills

* 6 month initial contract - extensions highly likely

Skills & Experience

  • A demonstrable background as a Security Engineer/Security Consultant/InfoSec Consultant from within large global enterprises
  • Relevant, Information Security and Information Technology knowledge. Ideally hold relevant Security/InfoSec certifications (CIGE, CIST, CIAM, CIMP, CAMS, CAP, CISSP, etc.)
  • Microsoft Certifications focussed on security (eg Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate/Identity and Access Administrator Associate)
  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the following - Unix, AIX, Linux, Windows, Oracle, F5, WAF Cisco Palo Alto, Azure, AWS, Google;
  • Experience of Nessus, Elk, Splunk, ELK, Kali, Nessus, Burp suite, Nipper and other security compliance tooling and their enterprise implementation.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of secure coding/Scripting - (Bash, Python, Java, Ruby, Powershell, PHP )
  • Experience of SIEM maintenance investigation and analysis
  • Experience of supporting an Identity and Access Management suites and their enterprise implementation, including API security, RBAC, ABAC highly desirable.
  • Be able to act as a point of contact for engagement with management, key stakeholders, 3rd parties & suppliers
  • Integrate DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, Improvements and upgrades into the relevant teams.
  • Have excellent communication skills
