On behalf of our client, an international finance institute located in Prague, we are looking for an external resource with skills and abilities as stated below:

OpenShift and Monitoring Engineer - Energy IT (f/m/x) financial area Prague - P631

Our client is a financial services provider covering the full value chain of trading, clearing, settlement and market data for stocks and derivatives.

Our clients global success is based on highly integrated and automated IT solutions that form the core of our client and allow companies and investors accessing global capital markets.

More than a thousand of employees implement IT strategies through technological applications grouped in several key Sections, thereby ensuring the competitiveness of the entire Group.

For the Section "Energy, we are looking for a dedicated OpenShift and Monitoring Engineer to overlook our clients globally leading trading systems for energy and commodities markets.

The tradable instruments cover a wide variety such as Power Spot instruments, commodity futures and OTC cleared derivatives most of which are tradable 24/7, 365 days a year.

Field of activity

Your responsibility within the Energy IT section will include the implementation of a centralized monitoring solution based on the TICK stack. You will configure the metric collection of containers inside OpenShift as well as from other sources and make sure that they will be displayed in our dashboards.

You will support the development of a new OpenShift environment by creating Jenkins pipelines for the monitoring tools.

In our Energy IT section, we strive to keep up a start-up mentality with technology-driven people that are part of the decision process - reshaping and improving the future of our product.

Tasks/responsibilities

  • Enhance monitoring of an OpenShift platform
  • Provide and configure a centralized monitoring stack, containing of InfluxDB, Chronograf, Grafana and Kapacitor
  • Deploy and configure Telegraf agents in containers
  • Configure new alerts with Kapacitor and Prometheus Alert Manager
  • Create new dashboards in Grafana
  • Create Jenkins pipelines for monitoring provisioning

Minimum Qualifications/required skills

  • University degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Expertise in logging and monitoring technologies such as TICK, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK and Fluentd
  • Experience with OpenShift 4.x
  • Experience with automation, software deployment and orchestration technologies (eg Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, GitHub).
  • Be able to take responsibility and deliver results under time pressure.
  • Be able to learn and fail fast.

  • Initial contract duration: Q2 with possible extensions
