Description
An experienced IT Release Lead is required within service delivery for an initial 6 month contract (inside IR35).The role will be based remotely at this stage until offices reopen in Stratford upon Avon at which point, flexible working will be appropriate.
As IT Release Lead, you play a key role in ensuring that projects and other releases deliver quality solutions that add ongoing value to our business colleagues.
This will include liaising with key stakeholders throughout the life cycle of a release, both for scheduled 'business as usual' releases and from the 'execute' phase of projects to the end.
You will oversee and govern the delivery throughout, reporting on progress and ensuring the risks are identified, monitored and clearly articulated at all stages.
You will work closely with projects, development and support teams using both agile and waterfall approaches.
The role will also be responsible for ensuring that IT controls are maintained (including SSDLC and Acceptance into service controls) safely delivering the system, without unnecessary disruption or risk to IT services.
As IT Release Lead you will have the authority to stop releases and projects if they fail to evidence adequate control or present an unacceptable level of risk.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with relevant and demonstrable experience of IT system design and/or software development.
Ideally, experience in a Financial services, insurance, investments and/or pensions environment is preferable.
- ITIL awareness
- Experience of various software development methodologies
- Agile/Waterfall
- An Information Technology related degree, or equivalent industry experience
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Version 3 (or recognised bridge course)
- Formal qualification in technical area of specialism (desirable)
