We are looking for one "Data Governance Specialist" to start from ASAP an initial 2-month contract for an international Org' -client in ROME, where REMOTE work is possible. Possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability. English speaking environment. Our client is an international organisation in Rome and a great reference in any CV!

BACKGROUND

Our client is an international organisation with headquarters in Rome and many offices globally. Our client is having a suite of corporate applications to support the operations. These include (but not limited to) systems for Back Office functions, core operations, management, reporting tools and publicly available platforms. Such systems are implemented according to business processes, compliance (eg Accounting standards IFRS), reporting commitments (client board, ratings agencies, donors) and accountability and delegation of authority frameworks.

There is an increasing demand within the organization for augmented use of data and for some stakeholders to have greater autonomy over their use of reporting tools, including self service models.

OBJECTIVE

Our client wishes to develop a Data Governance Policy to ensure that the Organization's data is usable, accessible and protected with appropriate access available according to needs.

TASKS

Under the Supervision of the IT Solutions Coordinator, the Data Governance Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Review existing policies, guidelines and information relevant to the subject matter.
  • Obtain a high level understanding of the scope of data managed and processed.
  • Meet with client stakeholders, even at Senior level, as required and directed by ICT
  • Draft a Data Governance policy for use by client stakeholders for review by ICT
  • Finalise the Data Governance Policy based on feedback and guidance provided by ICT
  • SKILLS

    Mandatory: "Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering a Data Governance Policy for a company/organizationin the last 5 years."

    • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or related fields, preferably at postgraduate level or its equivalent.
    • Minimum of 7 years of work experience related to data management, governance, IT Risk or audit
    • Exposure to and experience with application of industry accepted IT governance standards (eg, CObIT, ITIL or similar).
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Writing and editing skills in English
    • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
    • International experience working in several countries desirable
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English essential.
