Job Title:
Test Manager/data analyst/investment Management SME
Start: ASAP
Rate: £650 per day Inside IR35
Location: Working from home
Initial duration: 3 months (expected to run through 6-9months).
Role Summary:
SME Financial Risk Modeller with Investments knowledge. In summary, Our client is looking to replace their Analytics Platform and need someone with specific Investments knowledge to undertake Datamodelling/testing to ensure the new platform is fit for purpose. Activities will include stress testing, data/asset modelling, cross analysis of data on both platforms etc.
Note: The client is very keen to stress the need for Investments knowledge. Preferably working alongside (or previously qualified as) an Actuary. If not, very good Investment products and operational/business experience. This is considered an Investments SME' as well as risk analyst/modeller.
Skills Required
The successful candidate will have a strong overall investment knowledge and should be familiar with the markets and financial instruments used
Understanding of risk analytics and portfolio-construction tools and methodology
Experience of using analytics platforms: UBS Delta, Axioma preferred.
Excellent quantitative skills, high attention to detail and strong MS Excel
Drawing on the output of the models, collaborate with subject matter experts to resolve issues with the modelling of portfolio-level risk and return profiles
Strong workflow management, organisation skills and the ability to lead conversations with technical audiences in order to understand their requirements and seek sign-off
Preferred
Experience with insurance company and pension fund clients will be beneficial.
Experience in testing and documenting risk analytics and portfolio-construction tools
Experience of working in Middle Office department or a similar role
CFA/Actuary or other similar investment management qualification desirable
