Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Governance Lead for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £325-£365/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:
Provide excellent people management skills, and achieve positive outcomes, seeking mutual understanding and appreciation of capabilities and needs
Oversee the work undertaken by the governance team ensuring the timely commissioning, collation, co-ordination, management and quality assurance of all Board papers
Provide secretariat support for Programme level Board meetings, including planning, co-ordination and minute-taking to ensure proceedings are recorded, actions captured, and follow up actions are being taken
Facilitate information to the SRO, Chair, and Programme Director for Programme Board activities
Support coordination of programme level governance activity, promoting collaborative working, harnessing and managing collective risk intelligence and supporting informed decision making ensuring that internal and external interests receive the highest level of delivery confidence
Provide logistical support for the team, including planning, co-ordinating and overseeing the practical arrangements for the Board meetings
Ensure the appropriate management and effective filing and retrieving of documents and reference materials on behalf of the Governance Team, working alongside and in conjunction with the Programme Management Office
Assist the Senior Programme Governance Lead Officer and PMO Governance Team Leader with duties as and when required
Build and maintain trust and credibility between organisations by ensuring governance and PMO standards are fully adhered to whilst facilitating timely resolution of any emerging issues
Support Governance Team Leader and Governance Lead Officer ensuring consistent quality of work is provided, maintaining an overview of wider team outputs and ensuring wider team resilience in covering essential activities
Work in a fast paced environment and provide additional support to other functions to ensure the smooth operational running of the Programme Management Office
Be resilient, well organised and able to work flexibly
Work proactively with other PMO teams and others across the Programme in order to make informed decisions and cascade these effectively

Essential Skills:
Able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and business needs when working under pressure
Experience in analysing information accurately to identify and present key written and numerical messages in a clear, concise and well-structured manner
Ability to work flexibly and effectively as part of a team, sharing information and communicating effectively
Experience and ability of building relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to deliver success
Experience of using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proven ability to exercise a high degree of professional initiative including engagement with staff and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to exercise excellent communication skills to deliver a quality service, demonstrating discretion and confidentiality at all times
