Please note this role falls inside IR35 and will be onboarded remotley, however there will be a requirement to attend the office in London 2-3 days per week from 21st June onwards.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing complex and efficient SQL based queries against large datasets, and to have presented data by way of customer facing reports and datasets via visual dashboards.
- Minimum 5 years of T-SQL based complex report development - using SQL2012; SQL2016, or SQL2019 where possible, on large multi-terabyte systems.
- In-depth understanding of the mechanics of SQL server query engine and how to develop optimised SQL queries.
- Ability to read and interpret SQL execution plans in order to identify query bottlenecks
- Ability to identify and apply appropriate index strategy to help improve SQL performance.
- Understanding DB maintenance requirements.
- Data warehousing & Datamodelling
- Proven track record of designing & implementing a reporting strategy.
- Financial services experience

The key responsibilities will involve:
- Developing a common SQL reporting strategy with a heavy focus on reusable code modules.
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand the reporting and data extract requirements
- Design and develop efficient bulk data extraction techniques which are to be used as interface feeds into other systems.
- Develop reusable dashboards for financial analysis.
- Develop standard Jasper based report templates for integration into the core product
- Develop complex stored procedures; views, functions perform direct data retrieval from the data warehouse
- Extending knowledge of SQL query design concepts within the team.
- Performance analysis and fine tuning of existing SQL based reports.
