Our client, an SC Cleared government body is currently looking for a System Administrator on a 6 month contract and ideally you will hold an ITIL and Microsoft Certification.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Core Section Head with the development of technical solutions for all maritime afloat tasking, development of troubleshooting SOPs, and technical refresh/upgrade of all system hardware;
Assisting with the planning and coordination of ship surveys prior to scheduled CIS installation;
Assist with the System Administration (SA) of HW and SW of assigned systems;
Ensures all technical and service oriented documentation pertaining to assigned systems, interconnections, supporting cable plant etc. is prepared, properly stored and kept update;
Ensures Configuration Control data is reported to Core Section Head in a timely manner;
Involved in providing remote support of Flagship handovers for those nations involved in the Standing Naval Forces (SNF's).
Maintains a close liaison with other technicians and engineers within the CSU and the wider Agency.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in Application Server technologies;
- Knowledge of ITIL IT service management model;
- Knowledge of Incident and Problem Management processes and experience in this area;
- Ability to write technical documentation and user guides;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Problem Solving Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions;
- Probes all fruitful sources for answers;
- Can see hidden problems;
- Looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answer
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures.
- Specific Experience: System administration experience in an UNIX environment to include UNIX Scripting.
- Experience with maintaining Oracle Databases.
- Experience with maintaining SQL Databases.
- MS SharePoint Server.
- SCCM and SCOM Servers.
- Anti-Virus and Spyware Servers.
- Print and File Servers.
- Configuring Server Clusters.
- Operating and Maintaining a SAN.
- HW fault-finding and rectification
