IPAM Automation Engineer (GCP)
Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced IPAM Automation Engineer with GCP & Terraform experience to join their team in their clients' office in London. You can work remotely until Covid abates.
This is 6 month rolling temporary contract to start on 01st March.
The right candidate should have expert knowledge in IP services technologies (DNS,DHCP,GSLB), IPAM solutions (at least in one), GSLB products/solutions and UNIX (incl Shell, Perl) and you will be responsible for defining and enhancing the global DNS/DHCP/IP management/Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) infrastructure for Intranet and Internet based IP services.
GCP & Terraform experience is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and enhance the global DNS/DHCP/IP management/Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) infrastructure for Intranet and Internet based IP services
- Test, select or develop new technologies for IP-Services into standard-based products in Cloud and on-premesis
- Automation of IP Services elements/environments
- Define global standard documents and guidelines for all related products and architectures
- Serve as a SME within Network Engineering team for IP Services related topics
- Manage global projects including close coordination with other departments
- Engagement SME for cloud migration activities
- Demand queue management
- Develop IP templates for Google services
- Automated IPAM deployments (Terraform)
- Capacity management of IP space
- Operational readiness documentation
- Act as a key SME for IPAM cloud activities, attend meetings, being an early point of contact for networks and other groups
- Document new requirements, priorities agree with management and progress feedback to clients
- Assign IP ranges based on requirements and document accordingly using agreed methods
- DNS updates, automate using API's, Terraform etc
- Monitor IP space and deployment of new ranges to maintain IP space 'head room'
- Document processes and procedures using standard workflows like Operational Guidelines (OGL)
Key Requirements:
- Expert knowledge in IP Services technologies (DNS,DHCP,GSLB)
- Expert knowledge in IPAM solutions (at least in one)
- Expert knowledge in GSLB products/solutions
- Expert knowledge of UNIX (incl Shell, Perl)
- Cloud infrastructure Google
- Expert knowledge in IP Services automation and orchestration (Terraform, Ansible)
- Thorough knowledge in other areas of networking
- Thorough overall knowledge of IT infrastructures
- Thorough understanding of programming and distributed applications
- Good project management skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong technical leadership capabilities
- There will be some weekend work from time to time
