Description

*Programme Manager/Portfolio Office Manager.* remote working, 416 p/day Inside Ir35/Umbrella, Merseyside, North West.*

Starting March 21 until March 2022,(12 months)

Deadline: 16:00 on Thursday, 4 March 2021.

(Must have access to their own IT equipment to fulfil this role)

Proposed Sift Dates: 8-12 March 2021

Proposed Interview Dates: 15-19 March 2021

All candidates put forward will require a DBS check. 
Provide an overview of theme programmes and their interdependencies, reporting anomalies to the Portfolio Manager.
Produce analyses to support the balancing of the portfolio in terms of strategic goal attainment.
Provide support materials and reports to the Portfolio Management Board, Programme Director, and Portfolio Manager to enable effective decision making.
Maintain the reporting dashboards.
Maintain the portfolio delivery plan.
Maintain the integrated theme risk and issue logs
Maintain and keep updated the portfolio dependencies register.
Perform periodic reviews of the theme and supplier programme and project activities to ensure reasonable levels of planning and control are in place and make recommendations for improvement.
Provide supporting information to Procurement, Central Finance, Portfolio Finance, and related personnel.
Provide a centre of expertise and develop programme and project management templates that can be called upon by theme leaders and suppliers.

Ensure the templates are logically linked in with the theme portfolio reports.
Provide a focal point for advice to theme leads, programme managers, suppliers and project managers on best practice programme and project management.

Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven experience of establishing, running and finally closing a Portfolio, Programme or Project Office across a portfolio in excess of 50M
Deep experience in managing complex external supplier and partner relationships
Experience of working in the public sector and in academic environments
Experience of research projects is highly desirable

Ways of Working:
Highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently and remotely
Comfortable and motivated to deliver both strategy and operations.
