About the job

A global leader in digital transformation requires an Azure Security Engineer to join them on a 3-month rolling contract. This consultancy has clients in over 40 countries, and provides next-generation digital services. They have over three decades of experience in managing the systems and workings of global enterprises, steering their clients through the next steps of their journey! They do this through AI, ML and Agile Digital.

About the role

You will be responsible for implementing IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code), zero-touch and security-shift-left strategies. Experience in designing and architecting secure cloud solutions, working with various business units to understand their most stringent data treatment plans, and translate the requirements into solution architectures with traceable and measurable cloud security controls.

Ideally, you will have an excellent understanding of Information Security, Cloud Architecture and DevOps. In addition, the role will require working with multiple partners across different business units - in a complex environment with competing strategic objectives - at times conflicting with core security outcomes. This calls for strong interpersonal and communication skills.

What skills do you need?

  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud native security tools such as Security Centre, Sentinel, Log Analytics, Key Vault.
  • Hands on experience in automation using Terraform, with skills in Python and PowerShell. Via Azure ADO and equivalent cloud native CI/CD technologies.
  • Well versed with working in software development mode to contribute towards writing the software modules for cloud security services (IaC).
  • Perform the necessary governance to review and approve code changes - example tools; GitHub, Git cli, Visual Studio, AWS cli, etc.
  • Implement security tools and develop/write compliance-as-code to run within CI/CD pipelines to check security aspects such as vulnerabilities, policy compliance, guard rail configuration.
  • Develop and implement automation to automate the typical operational runbooks, otherwise dealt with manually.
