A leading local authority currently requires an IT Technician for an initial 3 month contract based in Bexley, paying up to £15.82 per hour via PAYE.
Role Overview
- Set up and maintain the Learning & Enterprise College computer networks ensuring that they are operating to full capacity and that the most recently recommended fixes are used
- Set up client and staff computers on all sites including satellite offices that deliver outreach provision.
- Ensure that the all IT suites are maintained to a level that meets industry standards and are conducive to a learning/employment environment.
- Review and source relevant training software to ensure up to date delivery is maintained.
- Load software and any required updates in a timely fashion to ensure continuity of delivery and up date hardware on an as need basis.
- Deliver staff training to cascade knowledge on new equipment, software packages, procedures and new legislative requirements relating to ICT.
- Produce and maintain an inventory of licences, updated when new purchases are made and available on request
- Support and maintain the digital signage within the organisation.
- Support the MIS and Data Security Manager in developing, maintaining and administering MIS systems and other web based solutions as required.
Experience Required
- Experience of developing, installing and managing IT networks or ICT training suites including maintenance and problem solving
- Hardware and software maintenance
- Experience of using a variety of ICT packages including an excellent knowledge of the Windows and Microsoft Office Suite packages
- Experience of database development
- Experience of setting up innovative and new ICT systems eg signage systems
- Experience of ICT Training
- Understanding of supporting legislation including information security and data protection
- Ability to drive and use of own vehicle
