The API Developer will contribute to the delivery of MuleSoft API-based integration solutions for a range of projects, as part of a large transformation programme. The developer will be required to deliver flexible, scalable and reusable solutions within a complex landscape, integrating a mix of disparate, heterogeneous systems.
" Evaluate requirements and lead the preparation of solution options based on a number of contributing factors such as cost, technical complexity, scalability and reusability. Advise senior business stakeholders on the recommended option based on a thorough risk benefit analysis.
" Provide realistic estimates on the delivery effort in terms of time, resources and budgets required to deliver and implement solutions to the Programme or Project Manager.
" Lead the creation of detailed designs, API specifications and technical plan, enabling developers to build the components and interfaces for the solution.
" Ensuring that delivered components adhere to the design specification, organisational standards and best practices
" Collaborating with other solution designers and architects, testers, project managers and across organizational boundaries with customers, suppliers and other 3rd parties
" Quality assurance of integration components, providing constructive feedback, assistance and guidance where appropriate
Essential -
" A minimum of 3 years MuleSoft Anypoint platform Development Experience
" Educated to degree level, or an equivalent level of experience, ideally in a computing or business related discipline
" Extensive software development experience, ideally with a strong focus on systems integration
" Proven track record of delivering solutions using the following technologies -
o MuleSoft Anypoint platform, Design Center, DataWeave, MUnit
o Java and/or other object-oriented programming languages
o REST APIs, JSON
o API Modelling using RAML (or Swagger/OAS, WADL, etc.)
o SOAP web services, WSDL, XML, XSLT
o Testing tools such as JUnit, SoapUI, Postman, ReadyAPI
Desirable -
" MuleSoft API development and design certifications
" Database development experience, SQL, document-oriented databases
" Experience developing on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
" Experience with other integration platforms such as Oracle SOA Suite, JBOSS Fuse, Apigee
" DevOps/automation tools such as Apache Maven, GitHub, TeamCity, Nexus, Artifactory, Jenkins
" Experience with other languages such as Javascript, NodeJS, Python, Groovy
" Experience integrating with Microsoft Dynamics (Finance and CRM), SOA Web Services, Legacy systems/databases
" Experience with Atlassian suite (Confluence and JIRA)
" Understanding of security-related concepts such as HTTPS, TLS, OAuth and JWT.
" Knowledge of emerging industry trends and technologies such as microservices, streaming, GraphQL.
