PROJECT MANAGER (SEE MUST HAVE SKILLS)
CONTRACT - OUTSIDE IR35
£600-£750 A DAY
City OF LONDON/REMOTE
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH; IBM iSeries, IBM Power Series, AS400, SAN, NAS, IBM PowerHA, Assure MIMIX HA, MIMIX, localised LPar capability.
Consideration will also be given to those with System/38 knowledge and experience.

THE ROLE
- Work with the Programme Manager and the senior leadership team towards the long-term strategic objectives.
- Direct/manage numerous projects/work streams from initiation to delivery.
- Project governance, methodologies and reporting in managing daily project delivery.
- Monitor, assess, report on progress of projects and the portfolio.
- Use project controls and quality assurance on all projects.
- Give regular/transparent status to the Programme Manager and business stakeholders.
- Work with work stream leaders to create and agree detailed project plans.
- Anticipate challenges, communicate assumptions, throughout project life cycle.
- Identify potential project risk, reduce the likelihood of risk and the impact.
- Manage issues ensuring early visibility and escalation as appropriate.
NEEDED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- VERY HIGH EXPERIENCE of project management WITH proven track record of project management and related service delivery experience
- Experience managing senior stakeholders in delivering organisational change.
- SOLID understanding of varying Project Management methodologies (Prince2, MSP or a similarly qualified).
- Experience of using MS Office applications including MS Project or equivalent project tools
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) - ability to comfortably communicate with both technical and non-technical people at all levels and within a Matrix reporting structure
REQUIRED TECH:
- IBM iSeries, IBM Power Systems and historic AS400 infrastructure
- iOS post V5R4 and IBM i Versions 7.2 onwards
- Performed upgrades between minor and major release
- Must have carried out both lift and shift, application migration between machines and machine/hardware upgrades in situ
- IBM PowerHA, Assure MIMIX HA, MIMIX Availability or other replication technologies is an advantage
- SAN, NAS and similar attached storage and networking technologies and topologies including localised LPar capability
- Core principles regarding Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Replication, Backup/Restore, System Integration, Middleware, File Transfer (sFTP/FTP)
- IBM Db2 for i and/or iSeries database.
- Consideration will also be given to those with System/38 knowledge and experience
