One of my globally leading clients is urgently looking for a Senior Java Developer to join them on a 6 month rolling contract. The team is currently remote based but ideally travel is required should the rules of corona change and people travel back to the office.
The ideal Senior Java Developer will have the following responsibilities- Be able to work in an Agile environment (DevOps, Scrum)
- Have a learning attitude that allows you to master new technologies and programming languages fast
- Design reusable code components and libraries that can be leveraged by multiple projects
- Design scalable and resilient solutions that allow for zero downtime
- Have experience with integrating systems
- Be a team player that can act on feedback and provide valuable feedback to others
- Be able to challenge the status quo and offer improvements that lead to higher quality/ease of use/maintainability/etc.
- Finish your tasks independently
- Be able to coach less experienced team members
The ideal Senior Java Developer must have the following Technical skills
- Strong programming skills in Java and Spring Boot (API)
- Experience in Akka toolkit (eg Actors/Streams/Cluster)
- Experience in streaming technologies (eg Kafka)
- Experience in (No-Sql) databases (eg DB2, Cassandra)
- Experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Experience in TDD (eg Junit) and BDD (eg Cucumber)
Nice to haves
- Fortify, Sonar, OWASP, Jenkins, Maven
- Scala, we have a small codebase that needs to replaced by Java
- Ansible playbooks for provisioning
- Monitoring tooling (eg Prometheus Graphite, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Logstash)
- Performance Testing (eg Gatling)
- Neo4J Graph Database, Cypher queries
- Synchronization software in Java
- Linux, Redhat
