My client are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join an Infrastructure Upgrade Programme. Initially the role will be remote based, and will then require travel to the Havant office 2-3 days per week once Covid rules allow.

Essential skills required for the role:

  • ITIL Configuration Management (ITSM) - Essential
  • Service Now experience - Essential
  • Experience of coordinating with offshore teams (India) - Essential
  • Utilities experience - Essential
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies - Essential

The project:

My client are running a flagship IT Programme to migrate systems from obsolete to modern and supported technologies. Solution delivery is through multiple workstreams which are closely mapped to respective business units. eg, Core IT systems, Trading, Generations, Wholesale B2B, Distribution, Transmission, and Retail systems. Final solution will vary from simple or complex upgrades, building new infrastructure platform (eg, Azure, VMware, Oracle OEM, etc), third party sourcing (Tenders and procurement) processes, software development or upgrade, as well as decommissioning.

Key responsibilities:

  • Baseline AS IS' (point in time) register/scope for systems obsolescence, create and maintain a clear tracker for monitoring and reporting remediation progress.
  • Work with the workstream project manager(s) to identify and engage key stakeholders, and when applicable complete sprint planning, sprint reviews and retros.
  • Work with the key business stakeholders, eg system owners, application SMEs, architects, developers, Business relationship managers, and IT service delivery managers to collate and document business/Systems/project requirements and user stories. This could involve facilitating workshops, 1-2-1 interviews, or other appropriate techniques, and in some cases focus groups.
  • Providing updates during the stand ups, or in project team meetings
  • Identifying trends and recommending potential solutions or areas to enhance efficiency or automation of solution delivery processes.

Other Technical skill set

  • Discovery tools: SNOW, SCCM, Qualys Scan, etc
  • Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, etc
  • General knowledge Information technology stack eg Networks, storage, end user computing, or AIX, SQL and Oracle databases, etc

This role is Inside IR35 so applicants must be willing to engage via an Umbrella Company.
