Our Blue Chip Utilities Client is looking for a Cloud & Infrastructure Architect - will be for 3 months initially (fully remote during covid) and via an Umbrella Company. Migration & Integration experience of Legacy systems (VMware/Hyper - V) & the Cloud are key
This role is for a Cloud and Infrastructure Architect, with primary skills, experience and expertise in the architecting and deployment of infrastructure services, both Public Cloud and traditional on-premise Datacentre. The capability to work alongside and with several key stakeholders, including both business and IT operational teams is vital. This will include the ability to understand the current 'As Is' landscape; with a view to understand business needs and requirements to ascertain and produce the required 'To Be' target architecture, and underlying infrastructure deployment models. The ability to create both high and low-level design documentation is essential; identifying risks and mitigation options, whilst driving the overall technical solution through process and offering the assurance as necessary to all stakeholders and other interested parties.
Must have skills:
. Minimum of five years/relevant or equivalent of hands-on design, implementation and migration experience
. A wide-ranging infrastructure exposure, including as many of the following as possible:
i. Provision of infrastructure for business applications
ii. Digital solutions
iii. Cloud delivery - Microsoft Azure infrastructure and costing
iv. Cloud delivery - AWS infrastructure and costing
v. Application Delivery - Citrix XenApp, MS App-V
vi. Network design
vii. Servers, Middleware and Storage
viii. Virtualisation - Hyper-V and VMware
ix. Provision of infrastructure for databases - SQL and Oracle
x. Operations
. Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
. Project solution architecture experience
. Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
. Excellent analytical and technical skills
With a focus on the below:
. Experience with Azure infrastructure such as Account structures eg (subscription, tenant), Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Domain Services, Service Principles, RBAC, IAM
. Strong Windows server background on both physical and virtual (VMware) infrastructure
. Experienced server migration elements to both on-premise and off-premise
. Hyper-V experience and design
. Azure Arm Template Scripting and management through Azure DevOps
