Description
Currently recruiting a Data Centre Application Migration Specialist to join a project team & assist with a data centre application migration project:
Duties
- Recommend refinements to the migration process that are identified through performing migrations
- Supporting planning teams in creating application migration plans
- Work through defined application passports to facilitate migration process steps
- Working with application suppliers (where appropriate/appliable)
- Creation of supporting documentation (Low Level Designs and or Migration documentation)
- Testing migration process/streams
- Migrating application and data subsets to target platform(s)
Technical/Skills Required
- Experience in Datacentre Application Migrations
- Application UNIT and SIT testing experience
- Scripting - creation of test scripts (UNIT and SIT)
- Experience in migrating Servers and applications that sit on Microsoft Server )
- Experienced in migrating applications from physical to virtual (P2V) and virtual to virtual (V2V) environments
- Remediation activities - resolution of issues
- Patching and update (server and applications)
- Experience with Data migration (and associated toolsets as appropriate)
- Strong documentation skills
This is an initial 6 month assignment.
