Data Engineer
Rate: £500 per day (in Scope)
Contract Length: 3 months
Location: Remote
IR35: Inside
Security Clearance: SC Clearance (candidates without will be considered as long as eligible for clearance)
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience of using SAS Investigation & Detection Products to create solutions including SAS Data Integration (DI)Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Visual Analytics to deliver data solutions in accordance with agreed organizational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable and future proof.
- Experience of working on a large-scale Programme to deliver data solutions through Agile, Scrum or Waterfall delivery.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in HMRC or another Government department in a Data Engineering role.
As a Data engineer, you will:
- design, build, test and maintain data management systems, making sure they meet business requirements and user needs
- deliver services that are automated, reliable and secure
- work closely with data architects and data scientists
- recommend ways to improve data efficiency and reliability
Skills
- Aware of the need to translate technical concepts into non-technical language and understands what communication is required to internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertakes data profiling and source system analysis and can present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data.
- Designs, builds and tests data products based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and/or access methods. Creates repeatable and reusable products.
- Delivers data solutions in accordance with agreed organisational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable and future-proof.
- Understands the concepts and principles of Datamodelling and is able to produce, maintain and update relevant data models for specific business needs. Reverse engineer data models from a live system.
- Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents simple programs or scripts under the direction of others.
- Understands core technical concepts related to their role and is able to apply them with guidance.
