3rd line Workspace Delivery Engineer (Virtual Desktop) - INSIDE IR35

We are working in partnership with one of our Tier 1 clients who are looking for an experienced Workspace Delivery Engineer (Virtual Desktop) to join the team.

The Workspace Delivery engineer will be supporting the operational delivery of the Banks Virtual Desktop Estate and its associated services. This role has a key focus on assisting with the technical delivery of strategic projects, in addition to ongoing operational support of services.

Within the role you will provide 3rd line support, infrastructure delivery, BAU and project based work across the enterprise. You will support IT incidents, effectively managing technical and business based communication and ensuring that route cause analysis and effective resolution is delivered. You will enable infrastructure strategy to be realised via information and knowledge sharing with other infrastructure team members as well as architects.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional/Technical Competencies:

Essential;

  • Citirix XenDesktop and XenApp.
  • Ivanti User Workspace Manager
  • Citrix Nescaler
  • Ability to coach and mentor others to address day to day faults ranging from user maintenance and desktop performance to high visibility faults impacting many users.
  • Experience using Backup & Restore tools and diagnosis of backup failures to identify permanent resolutions for reoccurring faults.
  • Can create instructions or follow agreed plans to deliver hardware and/or software change. Documents actions required for simple and complex problems, confirms correct functionality of hardware and software installations, coaching others where required and advises supervisor and if appropriate, users of progress.
  • Identifies areas where improved management information can protect the delivery of service and works with others to define processes to routinely collect information and records. Reports and escalates unforeseen or exceptional events.
  • Documents all work to comply to the standards, including reporting details of all hardware/software items that have been installed/decommissioned.

Beneficial;

Experience working with or supporting one or more of the following technologies would be an advantage:

  • Microsoft App-V
  • Windows Client Operating systems eg Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
  • Ability to create application packages.
