Data Architect

Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Data Architect to join their team in their clients' office in Edinburgh. You can work remotely until Covid abates.

This is 6 months temporary contract, to start on 12th April.

The right candidate should have over 12 years' relevant experience with rich knowledge in AWS and data lake/platform architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, optimise and maintain physical, logical, conceptual, enterprise and business data models
  • Define architecture for data lake/data platform on AWS cloud
  • Design various data ingestion patterns including Real Time ingestion
  • Design scalable and fault tolerant batch, micro-batch & Real Time data processing pipeline
  • Design Master Data Management solution
  • Understand the enterprise data landscape and identify future needs and requirements
  • Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to create large-scale data solutions built on AWS and also be part of the development life cycle
  • Work with various stakeholders and create enterprise data model

Key Requirements:

  • 12-15 years of experience with rich knowledge in AWS and data lake/platform architecture
  • Experience in developing enterprise data model
  • Strong experience in implementing data lake/data platform on cloud
  • Datamodelling
  • Master data management
  • Data governance principles and frameworks
  • Batch and streaming data processing architecture
  • AWS data services
  • AGILE delivery methodology
  • Relational & NoSQL database
  • Should have good reporting skills
  • Should have team skills to guide the team members on required actions and plans
  • Associate should be able to propose and convince customer in terms of implementing industry standard best practices, wherever applicable
