Digital Architect

Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Digital Architect to join their team in their clients' office in Edinburgh. You can work remotely until Covid abates.

This is 6 months temporary contract, to start on 12th April.

The right candidate should have 4+ years of proven experience in architecting and designing large scale systems in digital technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate product and business requirements into state of the art digital solutions
  • Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to create digital solutions
  • Develop and maintain architecture patterns for channels - micro Front End architecture
  • Architect the patterns for microservice architecture - with boundary scopes
  • Design and architect serverless microservices in collaboration with Cloud architect
  • Design the Architecture of integration with CMS and web analytics
  • Definition, maintenance and blueprint of reference architecture of a digital portal - Front End integrations, microservices patterns, caching mechanisms
  • Guides the team on cloud-first thought process and Cloud-Native thinking
  • Assess the architecture currently in place and propose improvements from a digital landscape.
  • Govern the implementation of the solution
  • Implementing best practices and industry standards
  • Constantly mentor/guide team to adopt better technology solution and constantly improve the system design

Key Requirements:

  • 12-15 years of IT experience with rich knowledge across the digital technologies
  • 4+ years of proven experience in architecting and designing large scale systems in digital technologies
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing digital technologies
  • Object Oriented Design principles and frameworks
  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud and digital technologies
  • Strong experience in microservices and JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience working with API Gateway and API implementation
  • First hand experience of working in DevOps practices
  • First hand experience of working in Containers and related technologies
  • AGILE delivery methodology
  • Should have good reporting skills
  • Should have team skills to guide the team members on required actions and plans
  • Associate should be able to propose and convince customer in terms of implementing industry standard best practices, wherever applicable
