DataCentre Migration Lead (SC) - Contract - Remote working - £competitive, Inside IR35
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a DataCentre Migration Lead to work at a leading global defence client on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a number of large-scale migrations, mostly based in Data Centres, but also including Servers, operating systems, platforms, workplaces, and delivery teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Confirm that all data required to plan/execute the Migration Wave is confirmed as correct, current, and complete.
- Participate in the definition of Wave management documentations and provide feedback on how to improve the processes as the project moves forward.
- Acts as the primary escalation point for all issues/risks identified on the assigned wave.
- Responsible for server migration wave execution of a given implementation depending on project's time/schedule.
- Directs the activities for completing the artefacts contained in the Migration Services process
- Has oversight for assigned wave's migration/cutover activity.
Experience required:
- Previous experience in a Technical Manager role, with a record of overseeing Migration's in datacentres or server rooms ideally.
- Strong Technical knowledge, also extending to Windows, Networks, and Cloud technologies.
- Has strong technical project leadership capabilities involving virtual teams across regions and time zones.
- Able to deal with complex issues involving customers and vendors.
- Ability to manage projects within scope of responsibility.
- Good skills using MS Office products such as Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
