(Software Engineer Python - remote 6 months up to 550 pday outside IR35)Our government client are recruiting for a Software Engineer.
This position will be based within the Statistical Production Platform team (SPP) where you will deliver using a range of technologies including: AWS (Lambda, Glue, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, APIGateway, VPC, CloudWatch), Python, Scala, Terraform, Concourse, Docker.
Working under the TDD approach, so testing is vital to us, so you might be working with Unittest (Python), Behave (Python), ScalaTest, TestThat (R) to name a few.Github and Gitlab are used for source code control. Artifactory is used for code dependencies.
Working as part of our development team, You'll use Agile and workflow management tools such as Jira and utilise Confluence and SharePoint for documentation/resource storage.
Deployments are handled by our CI/CD pipelines, which are using Concourse (Container based,YAML Syntax) as a platform and utilise Serverless framework to deploy our lambdas and Terraform for our infrastructure.
You will be designing software products to serve a variety of user needs and enhancing existing software products to meet evolving user needs
Ensuring a quality software product is delivered and maintained.
Being a practitioner in the use of technologies and tools, evaluating and adopting those appropriate for the environment.
Supporting an environment where continuous or on demand delivery can be enabled if needed by the business, using effective delivery and deployment techniques
Maintaining and supporting services, identifying, locating and competently fixing faults, and taking proactive actions to avoid service disruption.
Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques; identifying and sharing good practices and collaborating to improve the capability of the team
