Compliance Regulatory Project Manager - Financial Services - IFPR

My client within the banking/financial services sector is looking for a Project Manager with an extensive background in regulatory change and compliance, in particular IFPR - Investment Firms Prudential Regime. This role will initially be a 6 months contract, to be based in Manchester once restrictions are lifted, and paying £480/day (inside IR35).

The team is looking for Regulatory Oversight and Policy adviser engaged to work on the delivery of an Investment Firm (IF) regulatory initiative. The aim is to implement a New Prudential Regime proportionate for IFs. This legislation recognises the separation of the prudential treatment of IFs and credit institutions. The European Banking Authority (EBA) outlined its roadmap for the implementation of the new regulatory framework for IFs. It consulted the industry on its first set of regulatory deliverables on prudential, reporting, disclosures and remuneration requirements.

The role holder will be providing consultative support in the interpretation of the IFPR rules to be finalised by the regulator(s). This would also enable the implementation of the strategic regulatory reporting platform (Axiom) where all the rules need to be validated both centrally and by the impacted IFs.

Responsibilities by skills set required:
1. Business Analysis
a. Finance End User/SME stakeholder management. S/he will be required to partner and influence senior management in the interpretation of rules.
b. Enable the construct of an approved solution design
c. Interact with third party vendors to ensure bespoke requirements are correctly designed & built

2 Data Governance
a. Promote the data analysis capability to ensure Reporting Standards are followed
b. Data profiling to understand issues with existing data
c. Gathering of facts/information from data to support solution design is correctly implemented

3 Oversight/Policy
a. Well versed in the interpretation of regulatory text and/or formulating outline of policy
b. Ability to understand and critically assess Regulatory Reporting processes.
c. Experience of redacting interpretation notification/memo supporting adoption of technical regulatory requirement
d. Ability to critically and constructively assess solution developed by third party vendor
e. Experience in Model development and yearly validation process is a plus
