Badenoch & Clark is delivering on a specialist IT development contract position for our client, a well known investment (financial services) company, based in London.
Please note, this position has been assessed as 'Inside of IR35' legislation, which means that the payment model would be via an umbrella company. If you are only interested in positions through your own PSC this position will not be the right one for you. If you are content to undertake roles through an umbrella company (tax at source) please read on.
You will join a team of in-house Engineers/Developers who are developing a new investment platform for internal users.
Typical duties will include;
- Design and delivery of technical solutions with emphasis on automation and continuous integration (CI/CD);
- Collaborative working with colleagues - sharing knowledge and ideas to ensure solutions meet business needs;
- Being proactive and willing to communicate with the non IT business community; speaking to Managers and senior users to understand, define, design/develop and implement solutions.
- Developing the solution using tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
Technology skills needed to fulfil this role include;
- Java (8+)/Spring/Spring Boot;
- CI/CD build tools including Maven & Jenkins;
- Experience writing REST web services;
- Proficient in use of Angular (client uses v8);
- Back End relational database development experience (SQL Server, Oracle and/or Mongo);
- Strong familiarity with HTML, CSS and pre-processors (eg SASS, LESS etc);
- Active GitHub profile.
Our client also favours candidates who have a deep understanding of data; an understanding of the data within existing systems and how data flows within the existing architecture.
The successful candidate is highly likely to have an extensive background within financial services, investment management or insurance. Other sector backgrounds will be duly looked at).
