Must be Actisure/Linux/SQL/DMS competent.
Primary role & responsibilities
Actisure Information Systems competencies
- Perform migrations and upgrades (usually annually)
- Develop new strategies to increase data integrity
- Conceive and propose solutions to enable more frequent changes such as pricing
- Database administration
Virtual Cabinet super-user
- Perform upgrades and configuration tasks
- Fix minor issues and escalate larger ones with the service provider
- Database administration
Web server engineering
- Migrate/upgrade and maintain the web Servers, currently Centos7
- Administration is via Bash' over ssh' and cPanel
- Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Configure Firewalls and email services
- Write scripts (Bash) to allow backups and database replication
- Provision web site environments to web developers. (LAMP)
- Set up ssh' encryption keys and maintain access controls
Web site management
- Capture web change requests and interface with the web developer
- Engage senior stakeholders and reach agreement on change priorities
- Ensure changes have been performed satisfactorily
Domains and DNS
- Maintain the online domain registration accounts
- Register and renew domain names
- Report monthly on domains names
- Configure the DNS for domains, including MX, SPF, & dmarc
General
- Oversee IT projects of migration, integration, growth or decommissioning and recycling
- Manage change control discipline
- Some Sequel user competency
- Be flexible, adaptable and embrace change
- Available to respond to out-of-hours tasks (very rarely)
- Manage third party suppliers within service level agreements
- Renegotiate existing supplier agreements
- Lead on hardware maintenance and renewal
- Lead on software efficacy, maintenance and renewal
- Propose, design, drive and shape new trading reports
- Be the information security policy owner
- Be the business continuity plan owner
- Support data analysts with practical IT insights and thought leadership
- A proactive self-starter
