3rd Line Support Engineer - 6 Month Contract
Inside IR35 - Leeds, West Yorkshire
A leading engineering and service business are recruiting for a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join them on a contract basis during a period of high work loads and demand on the infrastructure team.
The 3rd Line Support Engineer will work as part of the central Infrastructure and Operations team, and be responsible for providing 3rd line technical support across a range of platforms and operating systems.
Working in collaboration with other IT Specialists, the 3rd Line Support Engineer will help to ensure that infrastructure systems are running at maximum efficiency and effectiveness, providing optimal support to the wider business and key services.
3rd Line Support Engineer - Key Deliverables:
- Support of server related incidents within agreed SLAs, and escalating incidents when required.
- Perform systems administration activities, such as performance tuning and data management.
- Monitoring and reviewing quality of service delivered.
- Interfacing directly with all service delivery teams on site.
- Creation, update and maintenance of the technical knowledgebase and documentation.
- Providing technical support and mentoring to other members of the team.
- Operating within agreed security frameworks.
- Perform upgrades to, and installations of new Servers.
3rd Line Support Engineer - Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a 3rd Line Support Engineer role
- Technical skills in Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware, Citrix, and DNS
- Some networking and network security experience
- Cloud experience, ideally AWS, would be beneficial
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Any relevant qualifications would be a plus - eg MCSE, VCP, ITIL, etc.
