Developer - Cutting-edge technologies, Umbrella
A well-known and respected Edinburgh Investment Management client is currently seeking a Developer to join them on a 6 month initial contract.
Whilst the role will be remotely based initially, it would be expected to be based in the city centre Edinburgh office 3/4 days per week.
We are looking for a Developer to join their Research & Development team. This team's focus is to explore and trial new cutting-edge technologies to understand their potential usefulness and benefits. Projects ongoing at the moment include Text Analytics (Topic Modelling, Sentiment Analysis, Named-Entity and Keyword Extraction) & some early-stage experimentation with the concept of tokenisation with Blockchain.
The following knowledge & experience is essential to this role;
*Extensive software development experience in C#
*A broad knowledge of various development technologies
*Understanding of the entire software development life cycle
*Experience with cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
*Confident working in an Agile environment, collaborating as part of an agile software delivery team
*Inquisitive mindset with the drive to learn about emerging technologies
Desirable skills/competencies
*Experience in Python.
*Competence with Linux/OSS ecosystem.
*Academic background in emerging technologies (eg Machine Learning, Blockchain).
*Exposure to DevOps
