My client is a very prestigious insurer and is seeking a Business Analyst to join them on a contract basis. This is a new role due to growth and we are looking for very strong documentation skills and you MUST have Lloyds, Company and London Insurance market experience. You will be approachable, friendly with a 'hands on' attitude. The successful individual will be working with other like-minded people who all have a collaborative approach to their work.

Role:

As a key member of the delivery team for the Global Markets Portfolio, the Business Analyst will support multiple initiatives across the portfolio. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing the processes of the business, recognising and documenting changes and improvements, and converting them into business designs and deliverable change objectives.

Reporting to the Programme Manager you will have very good knowledge of insurance including Lloyds and Company Markets to identify, shape and specify business and systems solutions on a range of projects.

Key Accountabilities:

Operate as a bridge between the Business Stakeholders, Project teams and Business System Analysts (BSAs).

Supports the Programme and Project Managers with the creation of business cases, project proposals and project initiation.

Business Requirements definition and documentation to support the BSA team to turn them into workable solutions in line with the delivery of my clients change portfolio.

A clear distinction between want and need, with a focus on value, add and quantifiable business benefit.

Understanding, clarification and documentation of the existing business process, interactions with technical solutions and data flows.

Identification of areas of process inefficiency, solution deficiency and opportunity, advocation of continual process improvement and business process re-engineering.

Diagrammatic representation of solutions for executive, business and technical audiences including the development of workflows, swim lanes and other mapping techniques.

Specification of both functional and non-functional requirements, demonstrating a clear understanding of the impact on technical design and solution use and usability, especially with reference to the user experience and interface.

Design and documentation of user guides, reference/help sheets and knowledge base material, user test cases, scenarios and plans.

Ability to delegate for Project Management in workshops and project meetings.

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build quality relationships across the organisation at all levels.

Premium communication skills both written and verbal, ability to adjust the style to suit the audience varying by role (technical/business) and seniority.

Clarity of thought, process and logical approach. Structured and organised.

Facilitation in small group, meeting and workshop situations. Ability to lead sessions, ensuring contributions from all and illicit the required information.

Experience working with global teams, Matrix organisations and the ability to influence without direct control or authority.

Knowledge of the full software development cycle in a waterfall context adopting the V-Model.

Exposure to a range of business process, business process re-engineering and "as-is"/"to-be" mapping tools and techniques.

Familiarity with the standard suite of Microsoft Office products. Expert level with Word and PowerPoint, advanced with Excel and Visio.

Appreciation of the big picture whilst maintaining attention to detail, comprehensive and thorough.

Professional Experience:

Solid experience working as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry. Detailed and demonstrable understanding of underwriting, claims, finance and actuarial functions.

Experience in programme and project environments, good Team player with proven ability to manage senior Stakeholders (C-Suite).

Related Professional qualifications and memberships, numerate or Computer Science degree a positive but not essential.

Exposure to and understanding a broad technical landscape essential. Understanding of Insurance specific applications, a benefit. (NOTE: This is not a Systems Analyst role, technology appreciation is required but "hands-on"
