Job description for the role of IT SPECIALIST SLM - Product Engineering:
Job Purpose and primary objectives:
The role will be an IT specialist for Simulation Lifecycle management (SLM) capability which is the integration of the Dassault Systems (DS) Enovia Product Data Management system (PDM), the Simulation Bill of Materials (SBOM), the DS 3DExperience platform with the CAE workflow of CAD > CAE Mesh > CAE Assemble > TestSet-UP > Simulation solve using High Performance Computing > Results visulaisation and design optimisation.
Key responsibilities:
The role is a technical role and will be responsible for the successful deployment of SLM
Works with the CAE Area Product Owner (APO) and the CAE Global Process leads (GPL) to identify new capability that requires IT input. Understands the business/workstreams needs and translates this to a set of IT requirements. Working with the IT programme team and product managers to complete a dsicover phase to get to a full impact assessment.
Works with the APO's to understand their capability delivery roadmap and ensures that the associated IT elements in the programme delivery plan aligns in terms of timing and quality.
Works with the Vitual Engineering IT team to enable and support the deployment of SLM into the High Performance Computing (HPC) platform.
Work with Dassault Systemes and third party CAE suppliers.
Support and enable the CAE attribute teams via the deployment of SLM to:-
Develop competitive advantage
Deliver capability
Create value
Responsible for the technical workstreams capability roadmap to the wider IT team and owns the impact assessment for these.
Provides IT technical direction and input into the sprints.
Collaborates with wider IT teams ie security, Software Asset Management etc to ensure that enterprise standards are adhered to in the workstreams.
Identifies and defines elements to be brought into the BAU operations team and works with that team and the business to agree support model requirements.
Key Skills/Knowledge:
CAE technical workflow knowledge of CAD > CAE Mesh > CAE Assemble > TestSet-UP > Simulation solve using High Performance Computing > Results visulaisation and design optimisation.
Demonstrable technical experience in working with customers to understand their problem statements and being able to simply translate these to technical teams to cost and deliver against.
Experience of working within a highly specialist technical team
Proven experience in working with technical customers
Experience in problem resolution, being able to take away problems and manage multiple stakeholders to come to a successful resolution.
Proven track record of technical delivery
Ability to bridge the gap between different technical and business communities with clear and tailored communications to ensure a common understanding.
