Job Title: Xamarin Developer
Location: Norwich/London
Job Purpose and primary objectives:
Xamarin Mobile Software Engineer who will be working with one of scrum teams to build and maintain, change and further evolve both existing and new products.
Expectations is to sustain the culture of continuous improvement both from a process and technical perspective, ensuring that:
Concentrate on building working software.
When the code leaves development it is production ready.
If code is changed, it will only be better: Ratchet.
SOLID/KISS principles are followed.

Automated testing is utilised to ensure quality is maintained.
Agile techniques such as BDD are used to ensure the whole team is involved in delivering the right solution to customers.

Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team):
- Performing analysis, development and delivery of high quality cross-platform mobile applications using the Xamarin Platform.
- Becoming a valued member of one of our scrum teams focused on:
- Stories that deliver features and improvements to one of Aviva's existing products
- Stories aimed at exploring and shaping a new product or feature during its discovery phase with a view to establishing it as a key part of Aviva's product suite in the future
- Contributing to the development of solutions that meet the strategic requirements of our business.
- Identifying improvement opportunities such as enhancements to standards or technical innovations to increase the quality and efficiency of delivery.
- Providing technical expertise and collaborating in teams operating across the UK, India and Poland
Key Skills/Knowledge:
- Building C# MVVM mobile applications using Xamarin.
- Modern software engineering practices, such as Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development, Continuous Integration (Jenkins), Code Analysis software (Sonar).
- Developing responsive UI for both mobile and tablet.
- Source Code Management (GIT).
- Experience in consuming RESTful APIs
- Agile way of thinking
Experience required:
Senior developer with the commercial experience on
- Working within an Agile environment.
- Mobile development for both iOS and Android using Xamarin.
- Source Code Management (GIT, Stash)
