Communications Manager
Remote/Brentford
6 month initial contract
Up to £550 per day via umbrella only
Background
GSK has a rare opportunity to create two new, leading companies - a stand-alone Consumer Healthcare business and the new GSK, a biopharma company - each with the ability to improve the lives of hundreds of millions of people and offer exciting and important places to work.

This role sits within the Global and Corporate Internal Engagement team which is at the heart of inspiring, motivating and enabling GSK employees to drive our company strategy and deliver the changes needed for both companies to succeed.

The person in this role will be the go to' person to support on a variety of company-wide internal engagement activities, ranging from key business priorities and announcements, crisis communications and creative internal campaigns. This person will also support delivery of communications to the Communications and Government Affairs (CGA) function. The successful candidate is agile, has a positive, can-do attitude and a broad range of communications skills - digital, video, written, virtual - and good judgement to choose what's needed for different situations and audiences.

Key responsibilities
Help develop creative, strategic ideas into engaging communications. This includes drafting stakeholder recommendations, internal engagement plans, employee communications for digital, print, video and virtual events and measuring outcomes for:
Global internal engagement projects as the need arises, including internal corporate announcements and key initiatives to set up the new Biopharma company.
CGA function internal engagement to support the key priorities of inspiring belief in our company journey, driving Accountability and Development in the function and enabling change.
The global rollout of a new content publishing platform, culture and inclusion and diversity strategies, supporting behavioural change initiatives as needed
Issues and crisis management employee communications, should the need arise

Specific capabilities and attributes needed:
Happy to flex the focus of the work and their time to meet dynamically changing priorities - taking the lead on new initiatives as business needs and priorities change
Proven ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously with a strategic approach and detailed delivery
A strong track record of developing and delivering effective and engaging internal communications at a global or above-country level, including digital content for employees
Solutions/results orientated and highly accountable
Confident in working with stakeholders at all levels
Excellent listening, oral, written, planning, organisation and evaluation/measurement skills

Skills preferred:
Proven ability in issues and crisis communications
Experience in a Matrix environment and confident managing ambiguity and multiple priorities
Confident working with senior colleagues and can network effectively across a matrixed, global organisation to get things done
Ability to focus on strategy and tactics and to move between the two
A good understanding of GSK or experience in a global biopharma company
Able to build trust, working with integrity and discretion, in line with GSK values and expectations
