We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require a Devops Engineer for one of their Private sector Clients based in Northampton.

  • IR35 - This role is inside of IR35

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • An exciting opportunity to represent Capgemini in a very strategic and high visibility role where you will be responsible for delivering efficient access to IT services for a global bank to support the realization of the business strategy by providing a technological competitive advantage with which to best serve the end customer.

Required skill sets

  • Primary responsibility will be to maintain and further develop number scripts/portals/code snippets used to manage infrastructure
  • You will be managing your own CI/CD pipeline and responsible for end to end result. Therefore, knowledge of CI/CD and ability to build new Jenkins pipelines is a must
  • A high level of experience and technical leadership when engaging with key stakeholders such as business aligned technology teams
  • Drive best practices, mentoring junior colleagues, reviewing code and contributing in software development skill set increase in the team
  • Process optimization and establishment of best practices
  • A deep understanding of AWS and the services and infra surrounding it
  • Strong development experience in Python including writing and promoting Lambda's
    - producing reusable code that is efficient and easily testable
    - extensive experience on python web stack eg Django or flask
    - TDD
    - extensive knowledge on AWS including serverless eg Lambda
    - good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
    - AWS SDK
  • Familiar with AWS services & Understanding of Cloud concepts with practical hands-on experience on AWS including AWS landing Zone
    - Deep understanding of networking - security groups, load balancers, transit gateway, TLS etc.
    - IAM and role management
    - Monitoring and alerting support using CloudWatch and CloudTrail
    - Understand security concept eg KMS, Secrets Manager etc.
    - Ability to understand AWS account set-up for creating a wrapper service with controls around AWS service use
  • Strong experience in CloudFormation infrastructure-as-code
    - Creating efficient modular code
    - full provisioning and management including Blue/Green or Canary deployment
    - troubleshooting experience and script validation taskcat, CFN, python lint
  • Experience integrating with code quality tools (SonarQube, Coveralls, etc) and automated testing
  • Knowledge of database (NoSQL & RDBMS)
