NOC Tools SME x2
- 4 month initial contract

- £500 - £550 DOE

Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer needs based on applications requirements
- Deliver engineering specifications, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical designs and specifications for projects and initiatives
- Estimate effort, both development and product delivery timelines, to determine a course of action for project
- Provide technical input for specific Network Tooling needs or objectives in order to meet business requirements
- Work closely with external vendors and other personnel in order to optimize and facilitate the best solution to meet the needs of the business
- Provide technical services for customers in a highly complex Network Tooling environment. Demonstrate ability to assess technical impact to the project/new technology along with technical risks.
- Resolve complex problems with little or no guidance. Independently research and promote specialized technical solutions.
- Analyse complex hardware and software issues associated with Network Tooling related technologies specifically the applications detailed above
- Analyse, design, test, document, and implement solutions for Networking Tooling functionality
- Define and specify architecture protocols and functional requirements and specifications for Networking Tooling components.
- Strong background in application solutions relating to the above technologies. Must be able to design and implement new solutions and manage change in a large-scale, mission-critical environment. Must have wide-ranging experience and the ability to apply that experience along with professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in effective ways.
- Ensure the environments remain compliant with vendor recommended patching standards.
- Experience of delivering solutions within a high secure environment and utilisation of high secure environment policies
Requirements
These are zero outage platforms so the candidate will need to have to quickly gain a good understanding of the whole application suite and should be a subject matter expert in the following:
- Application deployment within Linux
- Network Node Manager (NNMI)
- HP Network Automation (HPNA)
- HP Operations Manager (HPOM)
In addition, experience of the following would be highly desirable:
- TACACS+/LDAP/SSH/SNMP/SYSLOG
- Postgres, Oracle, SQL DB
- Oracle DB
- SQL
- Basic programming languages and techniques in PHP, Perl or Shell
- Knowledge of networking technologies
- ITSM systems as a user ie Micro Focus Service Manager, etc.
- A recognised formal qualification in a computer related subject is preferred
Non-technical Qualifications
- Excellent planning, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership skills are required.
- Excellent English communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation are necessary. Active listening skills are required.
- Excellent ability to proactively identify and resolve issues and opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in environments dealing with ambiguity.
