Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, are currently looking to recruit a Test Lead for initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£375/day (outside of IR35). This role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.
Responsibilities:
This is a hands on testing role for a highly experienced test analyst, the primary focus of which will be integration and quality testing of interfaces across a range of internal and external IT applications. Reporting to the Integration Technical Platform Owner, the main activities are as follows:
- Work closely with Integration Team to prepare test scenarios and data to prove build readiness introducing automation efficiencies where appropriate
- Manage the defect identification, reporting and tracking and collaborating with Integration Team to provide fixes to achieve defect closure via JIRA
- Engage with Programme Test Managers to understand the release plan to ensure that all integration documentation is prepared in readiness for scheduled testing/deployments
- Ensure traceability of testing against test basis and testing methods are consistent with the programme test strategy and best practice
- Work closely with stakeholders including external parties to provide review/approval recommendation of test scope documents
- Produce relevant test plan documents and test closure reports as required
- Risk identification and mitigation; issue escalation
- Proactive participant in lessons learned and continuous improvement activities across the Integration Team
Requirements:
- Strong testing experience working in an Agile integration environment with involvement in end to end testing
- Excellent understanding and experience of testing processes and procedures, test analysis, test design, test execution, diagnostics, recording and reporting
- Strong experience in collaborating in design and User Story refinement, and determining and implementing Risk Based Test Approaches
- Experience of testing on IBM WebSphere, JAVA, JSON, XML and in API testing using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured
- Some experience with the use of automation tools and frameworks within an Agile delivery environment - especially Serenity BDD, Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, JMeter
- Working knowledge of DB2/SQL
- Experience of configuration management and deployment tools such as GIT and Jenkins
- Good Experience of JIRA, QA Test or similar tooling
- Excellent planning skills and the ability to re-plan within a fluid delivery approach
- Excellent risk management and reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stakeholder management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work to deadlines
- A keen focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of VBA
- ISEB practitioner or similar accreditation
