Overview of the team and their responsibilities:

Infrastructure Engineering is responsible for the strategy, engineering and delivery of the firms Enterprise Compute and IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms. This includes Server, Storage and Operating System engineering, Infrastructure virtualization, automation and shared hosting as well as the ITSM platforms to support the ITIL disciplines of Incident/Problem, Change, Configuration, Availability and Capacity.
Within Infrastructure engineering the Unix Engineering team is responsible for defining and delivering the Unix strategy, OS Configuration Management and direction for the Bank.
Automating all aspects of infrastructure management
Integrating solutions such as Ansible (preferred), Puppet/Chef/Saltstack into a larger CI framework and pipeline
Build tools and interfaces for managing server infrastructure (full stack development)
Providing direction and guidance on the adoption of new technologies and maintaining a clear technology roadmap.
Defining and delivering standard Infrastructure platforms for Database, Web, Middleware and Virtual hosting.

Key responsibilities for the role:
This role will focus on a new project to design, build and deploy a fully automated infrastructure architecture that will be used for both the deployment and ongoing management of the entire Linux server estate
The engineer would also be expected to be involved in the rest of the team's activities as described above.

You will have:
Strong experience with programming languages such as Ruby, Python and Perl
DevOps/Agile experience, incremental development/delivery
Experience designing/building CI/CD pipelines
Broad knowledge of Linux
Excellent experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory or Capistrano
Configuration management experience with Ansible - including developing new modules, roles, plays
Experience building integration points between Ansible and traditional ITSM products such as HP Server Automation, BMC Bladelogic or ServiceNow
SA Experience is preferred as a foundation of understanding for enterprise class environments
Experience with source code control products such as Git
Virtualization product experience covering offering such as VMWare, KVM and AWS
Database experience with MySQL, MongoDB or Oracle
Firm understanding of large scale infrastructure/distributed computing concepts
Experience defining/documenting standards and processes in a large Enterprise environment
University/comparable degree (or equivalent)
