Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Chief Information Officer for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £750-£850/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.Responsibilities:
Acting as Data Protection Officer for the organisation
Designing and implementing data strategies and systems
Working with the organisation's IT delivery partners to look at technological platforms to improve the client experience
Working with the service delivery partners to enhance the data architecture and increase ability to derive useful insights
Implementing data privacy policies, complying with data protection regulations and information security policies.
Obtain and maintain relevant and sector-leading information security accreditation
Establishing multi-disciplinary delivery teams working across a number of partner organisations.
Building a strong network of support for the transformation programmes across stakeholder groups.
Essential Skills:
Experience in delivering programmes of digital, data or operational transformation or experience of product and innovation management in a digital, data or operational transformation context.
Degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field or equivalent experience in the field of IT management.
In-depth knowledge of data administration and management processes.
Minimum 5 years' experience in information technology and data management.
Demonstrates the ability to build a multi-disciplinary team and coach individuals.
A track record in building strong working relationships with stakeholders, achieving consensus across differing perspectives.
Displays the ability to communicate in writing and face to face with a range of colleagues and wider stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge and application of Information Governance and data security issues
Good understanding of modern databases and information system technologies
