Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a Head of Digital Transformation for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £550-£650/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.Responsibilities:
To be responsible for the successful delivery of the organisation's digital transformation, regularly reporting directly to the Senior Responsible Owner.
The role requires an experienced Programme Manager with an IT background, working within the realms of Public Sector Procurement and agile development methodology.
An initial phase of 3 to 6 months will involve researching and scoping the Digital Transformation programme, working with organisation's staff to develop options, make recommendations on the strategy and gain stakeholder buy in. This work will build on the outputs of recent staff consultation exercises.
The role will have responsibility for the day to day management of the programme. The role carries the requirement to co-ordinate and drive the development of the digital capacity and capability of the organisation to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits.
The role is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme and will develop and maintain the programme environment to support the individual workstreams within it. This includes working effectively and positively with individuals and groups, including other professionals, involved in the programme.
Responsibilities include managing and resolving any risks and other issues that may arise.
Essential Skills:
Ensure successful delivery of a large-scale change programme.
Act as organisational lead to ensure the successful delivery of core elements of major projects
Manage complexity of multiple delivery partners
Manage external supplier provision and liaise closely with the in-house ICT service
Confidently deal with and influence suppliers, senior officials and produce clear technical and non-technical advice on complex issues.
Successful delivery of large-scale projects in the private and/or public sector
Working with public sector procurement regulations
Successfully applying innovative approaches to sourcing services and of managing relationships with suppliers and partners
Developing delivery strategies, work plans and schedules, required to ensure successful project and programme delivery
Legislative and industry-standard security issues and processes
Working with modern collaborative workplace technologies and systems
Desirable Skills:
A degree or similar qualification in ICT or a business-related field.
A qualification in Programme Management
