Cyber Security Consultant - Telecoms
Fibre/SDH transport networks/IP/Broadband/VoIP/Firewalls
Contract: 9 months

A leading IT managed service provider has an exciting new opportunity working for their end client, who are a leading multinational telecommunications company.
The role is working as a Cyber Security Project Manager, and the successful candidate will need to have had experience with Fibre and SDH transport networks, IP/MPLS networks and VoIP services.
You will work with project teams to produce solutions that comply with internal security policies, standards and the security architecture. The role requires a recent hands-on background with a wide range of security, network and/or IT technologies. You will also provide technical advice and guidance to Technology Security Specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Cyber Security guidance, design input and design review/Assessment
- Review and approve end to end connectivity across the client's networks
- Specify security testing, and ensure that identified vulnerabilities are remediated
- Identify Cyber Security risks and ensure that these are managed effectively
- Ensure project designs comply with Baseline Security Requirements and security policy
- Ensure that projects integrate with security baseline controls such as IPS/IDS, WAF, Firewall Change Management, Identity & Access Management, SIEM and Vulnerability Management
Knowledge and Experience:
- Competent in understanding IT and network designs and equipment configurations used to deliver a wide range of IT and telecommunications solutions
- Competent in applying security policies and principles defined in security architecture to real world scenarios
- Network security (eg VPN/VRF, MPLS, routing protocols, layer 2 and layer 3 security) and network protocols (eg TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, SSH, DNS)
- Security control deployment/operation (eg Firewalls, Proxies, Network Access Control, IPS/IDS, Web Application Firewalls, Privileged User Access Management, Identity & Access Management, Data Loss Prevention, Security Information and Event Management, Vulnerability Management).
