Description

This is a senior role focused on hands-on delivery of consulting and technical architecture on complex programmes (design, build, assure and manage stakeholders).

This role focuses on supporting Live Service operations on a major Government project, so needs to have broad experience covering applications (Fullstack, Java & Javascript), cloud platforms (in particular Azure, with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes etc). You must have experience of both delivering improvements to digital services while Live, and Live service support covering 1st/2nd/3rd line, ITIL processes, engaging with EAB/TDA functions, creating and assuring High/Low Level Designs, release, problem, incident management etc. You'll also be familiar with network, perimeter devices (eg Fortinet, Barracuda, Palo Alto, CISCO), monitoring and alerting (eg Dynatrace, App Insights, Azure Monitor), and analytics (eg GA). Candidates will ideally hold professional certifications and hold active SC clearance or be eligible, along with long service support/delivery experience in one or more of the major government departments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in agile teams on assignments, working collaboratively to deliver the required scope/backlog, attending and contributing to ceremonies
  • Lead our solution approach and hands-on architecture work in building and migrating applications, software, infrastructure and services for our customers to support transformation outcomes (following industry standards and principles such as the Digital by Default service standard, Technology Code of Practice, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Architecture Framework)
  • Lead technical delivery teams in complex programmes with a mix of improvement work and live service operations/support, ensuring that our output and outcomes (solution designs at HLD and LLD level, code, documentation, quality, releases etc) meet/exceed our delivery commitments
  • Consult with clients and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful, efficient deployment, operation and support, passing necessary governance (eg TDA, EAB)
  • Lead technical estimating work across multiple projects, phases and client engagements
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with senior technical and delivery individuals within our customer organisations, building trust and advocacy for our services, helping promote us as a go-to' vendor for technical delivery; engaging with TDA and EAB functions, representing our interests and championing delivery
  • Support and mentor more junior team members (both Methods' and client staff where needed),
  • Support technical knowledge transfer outcomes (eg handover to clients, documentation, mentoring client staff, presenting to TDA or EAB forums etc)
  • Support Methods' communities of practice, to build our expertise and collateral in this area both internally as well as engaging wider external communities with events and hackathons etc
  • Review Risks/Issues and Dependencies regularly (in partnership with DM, PO and wider team), escalating concerns promptly both to Methods and through relevant Customer governance channels
