Junior Business Analyst/Contract/6-9 Months/£500/day/Inside IR35

Remote until C19 dissipates - then 2 days a week in the City of London

Junior Business Analyst required by leading provider of Catastrophe/Risk XS/Specialty reinsurance across the globe.

You will support the project throughout the delivery life cycle to ensure that it delivers for the needs of both the business customers and those supporting the systems.

What you will be doing in the role:

Requirements engineering

  • Identify relevant stakeholders and act as the single point of contact for requirements
  • Analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements to take account of business goals and priorities
  • Support the translation of business requirements into solution/technical requirements
  • Business process development; Develop a good working knowledge of the business goals, priorities and processes (as-is and to-be) for the relevant business areas

Release Management

  • Design and manage User Acceptance Testing processes and scripts to ensure solutions and processes are signed off
  • Identify training needs and support the design and delivery of relevant training to ensure transition and user adoption

Team

  • Partner with and support the development team both internal and our vendor partners
  • Work closely with the business analysis team both in London and Bermuda in order to manage interdependences and meet delivery timelines.

Applicants should have:

  • 2-3 years as a Business Analyst in a financial or regulated setting
  • Requirements elicitation
  • Release management
  • User Acceptance Testing
  • MS SQL exposure
  • Curious mind-set to learn about reinsurance and ILS with an appetite to make processes better, whether that be quicker, clearer, simpler or more robust.
  • Commercially and customer minded - able to analyse and interpret information to develop clear requirements that deliver customer and outcome focussed solutions
  • Engage actively across the enterprise with a wide range of people, from highly technical software developers to Senior Executive stakeholders. This means the ability to change style and approach is essential
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Nice to haves:

  • Finance, Insurance and/or Reinsurance experience
  • Experience of working in a Matrix team across multiple internal and external teams including third party suppliers
  • Practical experience using databases (SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS)
